CUE Seminaries of the UCC exists to connect your church with Chicago, United and Eden Theological Seminaries, to further the mission and work of our UCC seminaries, and to develop vital, financial support for these seminaries.

We live in challenging times and we recognize the vital impact of our UCC seminaries in preparing leaders for church and society, supporting the development of theological thought and scholarship within the UCC tradition, and providing multiple resources to our local churches.

Churches of the Ohio Conference have a long history of being served by pastors who have graduated from and/or received continuing education from Chicago, United and/or Eden Seminary.

Churches of the Ohio Conference also have a long history of vital, financial support for these three seminaries.

Our Mission

Defiance is a college where students learn to lead and serve in a democracy; learn to understand, appreciate, and have the skills to interact with other cultures; and learn to not only receive knowledge but to make their own knowledge by engaging in interactive experiences.

Building on a strong foundation of more than a century of educating citizens for lives of service and leadership, Defiance College has set forth to fulfill a vision that will enable its students to make a meaningful impact in a 21st century society.

Our vision creates an educational experience of engagement in civic, cultural, and learning dimensions for 100 percent of our students. Our Mission

Heidelberg University is a community of learning that promotes and nurtures intellectual, personal and professional development, leading to a life of purpose with distinction.

Building Your Success

Heidelberg is a university of both change and continuity. Proud of our 159-year tradition, we continue to be dedicated to liberal arts education.  Today, because both men and women change goals and careers with frequency during their lifetimes, Heidelberg’s intentional mix of liberal arts education with career opportunities offers students a solid base on which to grow in their professional lives. A liberal arts education expands knowledge, sharpens the intellect and explores cultural frameworks, enabling men and women to shape their values and their lives perceptively and with vision. Career opportunities afford time to look at professional options, to develop marketable skills and to gain real-world experience.

In the liberal arts tradition, Heidelberg University educates persons who can act effectively and with integrity in a world of change.  It cherishes academic excellence, honors knowledge, encourages original research, and promotes a lifelong commitment to free inquiry. Heidelberg is dedicated to being a diverse community that challenges students to understand their cultural heritage and the contemporary world, to explore frontiers of knowledge, and to develop powers of mind and spirit. In keeping with its historic affiliation with the United Church of Christ, students, faculty, staff, and the Board of Trustees work together to understand and respect diverse cultures, religions, and lifestyles. Heidelberg University develops individuals with high moral and ethical standards who are productive in their life’s work, engaged in their communities, and responsible citizens of the world.

Dr. Robert H. Huntington is the 14th President of Heidelberg.
