Rev. Bert Ambrose currently serves at Emmanuel UCC in Valley City, Ohio, and is an active member of the Network of Biblical Storytellers, Int. (www.nbsint.org). Bert has been involved in Ohio Conference Outdoor Ministries programs for many years. He provides biblical storytelling performances for churches and community groups, and introduction to biblical storytelling workshops for groups and individuals. Bert has also provided educational programs in biblical storytelling, story centering, and storytelling electives for judicatory lay ministry and licensing programs, as well as lay reader training for lively reading of the text.
Continuing the summer camp theme, “Got Spirit? Finding God in the
Everyday,” Bert will share and help us learn to tell at least two of the
sacred stories from this past summer’s program. We will go “marveling”
into the stories and find ourselves in them and they in us. |

• Lantern
Fellowship is for
all women of the Ohio Conference and their guests. Those who have attended Lantern in the past continually talk of the great impact the event has had on them. They talk of the difficulty they have explaining to others just what they have experienced. “I have found in Lantern Fellowship so many of the things I have needed - faith renewed, courage strengthened, friendship deepened, peace attained.” said Mrs. Marion Ballou Fiske of Cleveland, former president of the Ohio Conference Board of Missions for the Congregational Christian Churches. Though this was said many years ago, it is still very true today. Lantern Fellowship is a time when women, with a general age span of 19 to 80 plus years, come together to enjoy good food, warm and friendly hospitality, and the peaceful, quiet beauty of wooded hills and trails where the spirit can find renewal. The beautiful spirit of fellowship is present the entire time! We hope you will invite a friend or more to share in the wonderful experience of Fall Lantern. Come and renew your strength, refresh your spirit, and wander aimlessly in the woods. We know that when you leave for home you will be rested, inspired and renewed! |
