| The need was urgent, so improvements were made at Pilgrim Hills in 2000. A new water system was installed, the main road was paved, three buildings received new roofs, and the Prettyman Adult Spiritual Renewal Center was completed. Now, your gift to A Pilgrim’s Promise will help to meet the cost of $325,000. | |

All of these are at Pilgrim Hills, and all are complete and being used by camp visitors and staff. There is just one thing left to do. Funds must be raised to pay for the work that has been done. To accomplish this, the Ohio Conference Division for Outdoor Ministries has organized a capital campaign for Pilgrim Hills called A Pilgrim’s Promise. The cost of the improvements totaled about $325,000, and that will be the goal of the capital campaign. The campaign was officially launched at the 2001 Annual Gathering and will last until December 31, 2001. Pledges will be solicited for one-time contributions or for donations to be paid out over a period up to three years. Think about Pilgrim Hills and the experiences that you or someone in your family or congregation have had walking the hills, relaxing beside Spirit Lake, playing in the pool, or singing around a campfire. Think about drawing closer to God’s creation; about the opportunities for growth and learning; and about the friendships that have been started or nurtured at a camp or retreat. Then consider your part in making Pilgrim Hills a beautiful, safe, comfortable place to be. Your help is needed. For information or to make a pledge or donation, contact Cynthia Speller at 800-282-0740, 614-885-0722 or cynthias@ocucc.org. |
