Intergenerational Slumber Party - Memorial Day Weekend

Start your summer off right!  Join us at Pilgrim Hills for fun, fellowship and adventure during this slumber party style weekend.  We’ll have games, songs, s’mores and more for all generations.  Remember to bring your best pj’s for the pajama jam!

Grandparent/Grandchild Camps I, II, III & V

These camps are specially geared for grandchildren ages 4-9 and their grandparents. Each day includes Bible lessons, crafts, games, fishing, swimming, and campfires. Each family stays together in a private room unless you ask to lodge with another family. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with your grandchildren while you pass on your heritage of faith and experience, enjoy nature, and fellowship with other families. These camps fill up fast, so register early!

All Grandparent/Grandchild Camps are 3 nights and 4 days.

Mark Frey (11th yr. Dir.) likes camp, especially hiding the “red flag,” singing camp songs, and laughing at silly jokes!  When not camping, he pastors The Bath Church in Akron, Ohio, is married to Margee, and keeps track of two grown children and a dog.  He looks forward to seeing many old friends and to making new friends this summer!

Gale Green (6th yr. Dir.)  has lots of creative ideas and is looking forward to a great camp experience again this year.  She is pastor of First UCC in Marion.

Mark Moore
has been leading and directing UCC summer camps since 1996.  He was ordained in 1999.  He currently serves at West Milton UCC.  Mark and his wife Linda have two daughters and three grandchildren (triplets).

GRANDPARENTS When registering your family members online for grandparent or family camps, please complete a separate registration for yourself.  Register as a separate “camper family,” different than your grandchildren’s “camper family.” On your registration, watch for the field that will ask for the last names of your grandchildren and size of group attending so we can cross reference the family groups and assign lodging based on size and need.

EVERY ADULT AND CHILD attending Grandparent/Grandchild and any of our family camps needs their own separate registration form and deposit. A DEPOSIT must be paid for EVERY ADULT AND CHILD registering for these camps.  

Deposit amounts:  children age 12 and under - $30; youth over 12 and adults - $75 One check can be sent per family unit.

Hand in Hand Camp

Join our Hand in Hand family as we learn to appreciate each other and our unique abilities, along with experiencing the best of church camp activities. Hiking, campfire cookouts, crafts, paddle boating, swimming, nature activities, puppetry, and vespers are only some of the highlights. Sixteen junior/senior high youth are invited to join with 16 developmentally disabled youth/young adults as we learn to live “hand in hand” with each other as children of God.  An unforgettable week!

Lisa Studenmund is a school counselor with a degree in special education. 

Randy Gehres is the senior pastor at Christ UCC, Orrville. They have directed this camp for almost three decades.  It is their favorite week of the year.

Floating with the Spirit - Women's Canoe Camp

 

Are you a woman who needs a break from the cares of life? If you want to meet interesting women and share your faith, your struggles and your joys, this is the camp for you. If you want to laugh and play and be like a kid again for a few days, this is your camp. Any life experience you have will contribute to the richness of the camp. Women from age 20 to age 60+ have enjoyed this camp. We will canoe downstream on local rivers, camp out in tents, enjoy good food, and share stories around the campfire.

Brent Westover (4th yr. Dir.) is a member of Brownhelm UCC.   Brent has been involved as a counselor and director for Love the Pool Camp for five years and has served on the Division for Outdoor Ministries for the past four years and currently is the Chairperson.  He is married to Jennifer who has been a counselor and resource person for two years.

Lantern Fellowship

This twice-a-year event gathers women of all ages for a faith centered “must do for me” weekend at Pilgrim Hills. Attendees find their faith renewed, courage strengthened, friendships deepened and peace attained. Enjoy good food, warm hospitality and meet new friends in faith.

A Day with God and Self

A Day with God and Self is a day-long retreat for educators, clergy and laity at Pilgrim Hills. Each retreat has opportunities for personal reflection, silence, corporate worship, relaxation and refreshment, individual and/or small group spiritual guidance and encountering various spiritual disciplines. This year we are looking at the teachings of Teresa of Avila. Attend one day or as many as you wish.
