Speakers

Rev. Robert Molsberry

Bob Molsberry has served as Ohio Conference Minister since September, 2007. Having received his Master of Divinity degree from Yale Divinity School in 1982, Bob has served congregations in Illinois and Iowa, both as called pastor and intentional interim.

His most recent employment was as interim Director of Administration at Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis.

With his wife, Ann, he has spent six years in Central America engaged in community development with Peace Corps and the Mennonite Central Committee.

He has been active on a number of national setting Covenanted Ministries boards and committees, including Wider Church Ministries and the United Church of Christ Fiftieth Anniversary Committee.

Rev. Molsberry is the author of two books, Blindsided by Grace: Entering the World of Disability (Augsburg Fortress Press, 2004), and Tour de Faith: A Cyclist's Lessons for Living (Rowman & Littlefield, 2007).

Blindsided shares the story of the author's disabling accident in 1997 which left him in a wheelchair, and brings the reader to an understanding of the concept of disability as a cross-cultural adventure.

Tour de Faith introduces the reader to the main tenets of Progressive Christian theology through the lens of an annual cross-Iowa bicycle trek that Bob participates in every summer.

Bob's wife of thirty two years, Ann, is finishing her Master of Divinity degree at Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis.

They have two children. Their son, Ames, works in outdoor education through the YMCA in St. Louis and is engaged to be married in 2008.  Their daughter, Caitlin, is a senior at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, majoring in Hispanic Studies and Political Science.

Rev. Dr. William Edwards

William H. Edwards is the Regional Pastor and President for the Christian Church in Ohio. Prior to coming to this position, Dr. Edwards served as Associate General Minister and Vice President in the Office of General Minister and President.

He served as the staff team leader and worked directly with the General Minister and President in implementing church policy and initiatives.

Dr. Edwards served as pastor of the Disciples Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Disciples Center was a unique joint ministry of two congregations, Forest Park (a white congregation) and St. John's (an African-American congregation), sharing one building with the leadership of one Pastor and driven by one vision of bringing people into a relationship with God through faith and hope in Jesus Christ.

Dr. Edwards has served on the staff of Homeland Ministries as a Senior Associate in the Center for Congregational Growth and Vitality. Dr. Edwards also worked in the Department of Christian Education as Director of Racial/Ethnic Educational Ministries.

An Ohio native, Dr Edwards graduated from Hiram College in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He completed his requirements for the Master of Divinity degree at Christian Theological Seminary in December, 1982.

Dr. Edwards was ordained to the Christian Ministry on February 7, 1983 at Fifth Christian Church in Cleveland Ohio. He earned a Doctor of Ministry degree in June 1991 at McCormick Theological in Chicago, IL.  On May 10, 1998, Dr. Edwards graduated from the University of Memphis with an Executive Masters of Business Administration.

Dr. Edwards and wife Sabrina are parents of three sons, Deon, Emmanuel and Jeremiah; and two daughters, Korean and Rachel. They have eight grandchildren, Taylor, Zuri, William, Tyre, Sarah, Zenia, Makadia and Angel.
